A complete access control system — hardware terminals, web application, wiring documentation, packaging, and a promotional video we made entirely in-house with Blender. My most rewarding project at Mitrefinch. Eighteen months from start to shipped product.
Mitrefinch's existing terminals were clunky and dated — basic calculator-style LCD displays. We partnered with an external agency for the physical unit design while I handled the interface.
Designing for a constrained form factor was a fun challenge. User tested before final build.

MF Secure mirrors the physical reality of access control — Sites contain Areas, Areas contain Devices. Device configuration via built-in drawer, hardware linking via communication codes.

When the hardware agency delivered 3D files for the bespoke units, I spotted an opportunity. Pitched the CEO on producing a promotional video in-house using Blender — he invested in a dedicated workstation and we delivered this 90-second promo without any external agency involvement.
In house produced promotional video

This project showed what's possible at a smaller company. Truly end-to-end ownership: - Hardware terminal interface - Web application - Wiring schematics - Installation documentation - Packaging design - Instruction manuals - 3D promotional video - Website landing page - Marketing assets Shipped after eighteen months. Sold significant volume.
